Masonry Cement MC 22.5X.  

Masonry Cement: MC 22.5X is manufactured to EN 413:2001.The cement is ideal for general construction works like floor screeds, brick mortar and plastering mortar. The cement is also ideal for soil stabilization during road construction with materials that have high plasticity.

Composition and Conformance

Masonry Cement (22.5X) is formulated from Cement Clinker and inter-ground with other constituents such as calcined clay brick and limestone, in accordance to the requirements of ZWS EN 413:2001

  • Masonry Cement (22.5X) is characterised by good early and 28 day strengths.


Making mortar with Masonry Cement (22.5X) requires a standard ratio mix of 1:4 (cement:sand). Ratios are a standard guide and contractors can apply variable methods in their mixing ratios.

Material and safety data

Inhalation: Wear approved dust masks as breathing cement dust may cause nose, throat, lung irritation or choking.

Eyes: Wear glasses or safety goggles to prevent contact with eyes. Eye contact with cement may cause serious and potentially irreversible injuries.

Skin contact: Wear impervious gloves, shoes and protective clothing to prevent skin contact. Prolonged skin contact with wet cement may cause serious burns. Repeated contact may cause contact dermatitis.

Ingestion: In case of accidental ingestion, do not induce vomiting. If the person is conscious, wash out mouth with water and give plenty of water to drink.


Handling: Cement when mixed with water on application produces heat which is called heat of hydration and can cause irritation when handled without gloves .
